Uber Technologies shares rose more than 2.8% on Thursday after Chief Executive Officer Dara Khosrowshahi completed a $10 million purchase of company stock, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
Khosrowshahi acquired 141,000 shares of Uber common stock at a weighted average price of $70.9642 per share. Individual transaction prices ranged from $70.73 to $71.18 per share.
Following the acquisition, the CEO directly holds 1,367,100 shares of Uber common stock.
The ride-hailing company's shares are down roughly 12% year-to-date as of Thursday.
