Tether’s 2025 statements audited by KPMG US
Stablecoin issuer Tether confirms KPMG US has completed an audit of its 2025 financial statements, marking a step toward enhanced transparency.

Tether Holdings Limited said on Monday that KPMG US has audited its 2025 financial statements, reinforcing its commitment to transparency amid regulatory scrutiny.
The audit, conducted by one of the ‘Big Four’ accounting firms, covers Tether’s consolidated financial statements for the year ending Dec. 31, 2025. The issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin by market capitalization did not disclose the full results of the audit in its statement.
Tether has faced repeated calls from regulators and investors for greater financial disclosures, particularly regarding its reserve holdings and risk management practices. The company has previously published attestations from other accounting firms, but a full audit by a major auditor represents a higher standard of verification.
In a social media post, Tether Chief Technology Officer Paolo Ardoino said the audit was a ‘milestone’ for the company. ‘This is a significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to build trust and transparency in the digital asset ecosystem,’ he said.
The move comes as stablecoins face heightened regulatory attention globally, with U.S. and European authorities pushing for stricter oversight of issuers. Tether’s USDT token remains a cornerstone of crypto trading and decentralized finance, with a market capitalization exceeding $110 billion as of recent data.
KPMG US declined to comment on the audit beyond confirming its completion.
