Targa Resources Corp. announced a leadership restructuring, appointing Brent B. Secrest as president of logistics and transportation and promoting Benjamin J. Branstetter to chief financial officer, effective September 1.
Secrest joins Targa from Enterprise Products Partners L.P., where he served as executive vice president and chief commercial officer. His responsibilities included oversight of commercial activities across natural gas, natural gas liquids, crude oil, petrochemicals and exports. Targa CEO Matt Meloy said Secrest is one of the most respected commercial leaders in the midstream sector, citing his track record in disciplined execution, strategic leadership and customer relationships.
Branstetter, currently president of logistics and transportation, will succeed William A. Byers as CFO. Byers, who has held the CFO role for two years, will transition to an advisory position through the end of 2026. Branstetter joined Targa in April 2017 and was named to his current role in March 2026, prior to which he held positions in investment banking, corporate strategy and risk management.
The changes were approved by Targa’s board of directors. The Houston-based company operates midstream infrastructure assets connecting natural gas and natural gas liquids to domestic and international markets. Targa is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker TRGP and is a component of the S&P 500 and Fortune 500.
