Nine Swiss companies have started sandbox tests of CHFD, a Swiss franc stablecoin intended for programmable payments and digital asset settlement, according to a Tuesday press release.
Financial market operator SIX and payment app TWINT are the latest participants, joining a group of banks in the initiative, which launched in April. The pilot will assess whether programmable payments can reduce fraud on online marketplaces, improve fair access to event tickets, and make public payments more efficient.
