Sweden’s benchmark equity gauge ended modestly lower on Monday, with losses in the healthcare and financial sectors offsetting gains in select industrial names.
The OMX Stockholm 30 fell 0.05% to close at 2,181.40, as 415 stocks declined against 311 advances, with 67 unchanged. The index’s minor decline followed broad weakness across healthcare and financial shares, which weighed on sentiment despite pockets of resilience in other sectors.
Among the top performers, Essity AB B rose 2.82% to 281.20, SKF B gained 2.17% to 268.20, and Sandvik AB advanced 1.65% to 387.10. SKF B’s move marked a fresh all-time high.
The index’s laggards included ABB Ltd, which fell 2.28% to 924.60, SAAB AB ser. B, down 1.98% to 642.20, and Svenska Handelsbanken A, which declined 1.63% to 144.55.
Commodities extended declines, with October crude oil futures down 2.60% to $84.80 per barrel and November Brent crude falling 2.18% to $90.65 per barrel. Gold futures, by contrast, edged up 0.57% to $4,707.05 per troy ounce.
Currency movements showed the euro strengthening 0.20% against the Swedish krona to 11.08, while the dollar rose 0.40% to 9.50. The U.S. Dollar Index futures were up 0.20% at 98.93.
The session reflected a mixed regional performance, with Swedish equities under pressure from sector-specific headwinds even as select large-caps and commodities displayed divergent trends.
