Stratasys Ltd. (NASDAQ: SSYS) has extended its 12-year partnership with Limbitless Solutions, a nonprofit research facility at the University of Central Florida, to advance sustainability and expand access to 3D-printed prosthetic devices for children with limb differences.
The collaboration, which began in 2014, has delivered hundreds of prosthetic devices across the U.S. and internationally. Stratasys has supported the initiative through material donations, additive manufacturing technology and engineering expertise, enabling the production of prosthetic components, 3D-printed molds and prototypes.
A dedicated lab at the University of Central Florida houses multiple Stratasys systems, providing students with hands-on experience in additive manufacturing. The company’s Certified Pre-Owned program recently donated a refurbished F370 3D printer to bolster operations, education and community outreach efforts.
Albert Manero, Executive Director and Co-founder of Limbitless Solutions, said Stratasys has been a foundational partner since the initiative’s inception. 'What started as a short phone call while I was in graduate school turned into a decade-long partnership that shows how additive manufacturing can create a tangible impact for the children we serve and the future engineers and designers working to build a more accessible world,' he stated.
Rosa Coblens, Vice President of Sustainability and Communications at Stratasys, emphasized that the partnership aligns with the company’s commitment to advancing sustainability while driving social impact through its Certified Pre-Owned program.
