STARLUX Airlines and American Airlines have launched a codeshare partnership that expands travel options for passengers connecting transpacific routes to North America. The agreement allows travelers to book seamless, single itineraries combining STARLUX’s flights to Taipei with American Airlines’ connecting flights to 20 U.S. destinations, including hubs in Phoenix and Los Angeles. This follows an interline agreement established in 2025, marking a strategic expansion of their existing collaboration.
The partnership enables connections via American’s Phoenix hub to cities such as Albuquerque, Austin, Boston, El Paso, Kansas City, San Antonio, San Diego, St. Louis, Tucson, and Washington, D.C. (Reagan). Via Los Angeles, travelers can link to New York (JFK) and Miami, while both Phoenix and Los Angeles serve as gateways to Atlanta, Charlotte, Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth, Las Vegas, Orlando, Chicago O’Hare, and Philadelphia. STARLUX, headquartered in Taiwan, operates 34 destinations across Europe, Asia, and the U.S., while American Airlines serves over 250 global hubs in North America.
Both airlines anticipate further expanding connecting opportunities as the partnership evolves. Additionally, they are preparing a reciprocal frequent-flyer program, enabling members to earn and redeem miles on eligible codeshare flights. The move underscores American Airlines’ broader strategy to strengthen its transpacific network, complementing STARLUX’s growing regional footprint in Asia and beyond.
Glenn Chai, CEO of STARLUX Airlines, emphasized the partnership’s potential: ‘This codeshare marks an important milestone for STARLUX. American Airlines is an ideal partner, with a network across North America that complements what we’ve built across Asia.’ Anmol Bhargava, American’s Senior Vice President of Alliances, noted the value of Taipei as a key destination for business, leisure, and family travel, stating, ‘Together with STARLUX Airlines, we’re partnering to provide new travel options.’
