StandardAero (NYSE: SARO) has entered into a Supplier Service Agreement with GMR Aero Technic to deliver on-wing engine support services for narrowbody CFM International powerplants across India.
Under the arrangement, StandardAero — designated as a CFM LEAP Premier MRO provider — will offer maintenance coverage for the CFM56-7B, LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines, which serve the Boeing 737NG, Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX families respectively.
India currently has approximately 1,000 LEAP powerplants in service, with a further 3,200 on order, alongside more than 100 CFM56-7B engines still operating in the country. StandardAero began supplying LEAP quick-turn shop visit services there in March 2024 and completed correlation of its first LEAP test cell in November 2024.
The company has held a CFM International General Support License Agreement for the CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B since 2009.
GMR Aero Technic is India's largest third-party MRO service provider, operating line maintenance at 12 airports in India and one in Nepal. The firm serves more than 60 customers and holds approvals from over 30 global regulators, including the EASA, FAA and India's DGCA.
Rebecca Lane, senior vice president of global sales at StandardAero, said the agreement builds on existing MRO capabilities for operators across India.
StandardAero operates an 810,000-square-foot facility in San Antonio and maintains locations in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Winnipeg, Manitoba.
