Sony Electronics and VITEC announced a global partnership to integrate Sony’s BRAVIA professional displays with VITEC’s Avedia IPTV and digital signage platform. The collaboration combines Sony’s display hardware with VITEC’s content management system to deliver a player-less solution operating directly on the display’s system-on-a-chip.
The integrated system leverages an Android-based platform, eliminating the need for external media players and reducing installation complexity. It supports live IPTV channels, interactive signage, and targeted advertising with real-time content adaptation capabilities. The platform is designed for centralized control across thousands of displays, including redundancy features and security standards for large-scale deployments.
Target verticals include corporate environments, entertainment venues, hospitality, healthcare, and public facilities. Sony’s BRAVIA professional displays incorporate energy-saving technologies such as light sensors and automatic power-down modes, while VITEC’s GreenPEG initiative emphasizes environmental sustainability across its value chain.
Rik Willemse, Head of Professional Display Solutions Europe at Sony Europe, stated the partnership aims to deliver a scalable solution across multiple industries. Eli Garten, Senior Vice President of Global IPTV and Partner Solutions at VITEC, highlighted the collaboration’s focus on providing worldwide, scalable IPTV and digital signage solutions.
