Smith Micro Software Inc. has entered into a multi-year, multi-SKU agreement with a major U.S.-based mobile operator to expand its family safety offerings under its SafePath platform.
The deal, announced Thursday, builds on an existing partnership between the Pittsburgh-based software company and the unnamed carrier. Under the agreement, Smith Micro will leverage its SafePath technology to develop new capabilities designed to help families stay connected and protected through the operator's network.
The framework is intended to support ongoing product innovation, the introduction of new services and experiences, future growth, product expansion, and broader deployment opportunities across the operator's customer base. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"We are excited to deepen our relationship with our mobile operator partner through this expanded multi-year agreement," said Tim Huffmyer, chief executive officer of Smith Micro. "This commitment reflects the strength of our partnership, their confidence in our technology, and our shared vision of delivering industry-leading family safety experiences."
Smith Micro develops software solutions for mobile service providers, with a focus on family safety and voice messaging capabilities. Its SafePath platform, a registered trademark, has been used previously to offer connectivity and protection features to consumers through carrier partnerships.
