SIX Swiss Exchange has launched SIX Market Signal, a new market data service providing 1BBO real-time and historical data for equities traded in Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and 16 EU markets.
The offering draws on order-book data from SIX Swiss Exchange, Spain's BME Exchange, and the UK, EU and Swiss market segments of Aquis Exchange. The service is designed to simplify access to European market data while reducing costs compared to traditional feeds.
Institutional clients can use the service to broaden data access across their organizations, while retail customers in Switzerland gain direct real-time access to exchange data — a first for private investors. Additional retail rollouts across the EU and UK are planned, the operator said.
The service also grants users API access for developing and training trading models and AI agents, allowing private investors, fintechs, banks and brokers to integrate the data into various applications without complex licensing restrictions. Historical and intraday data products accompany the 1BBO feed, with further datasets expected to be added to the SIX Market Signal marketplace over time.
"With Market Signal, SIX is removing barriers to accessing high-quality exchange data in European capital markets," said Santiago Ximenez, head of Data & Connectivity, Exchanges at SIX.
The platform is built on viaNexus technology, enabling real-time data distribution, permissions management, cloud-based API delivery and integration into AI and quantitative workflows. Direct data feeds such as those used by market makers and proprietary trading desks remain the only route to faster price dissemination, the company noted.
The service is available immediately for institutional customers. Swiss private investors can subscribe directly, with further EU and UK retail launches scheduled.
