Shares of Siemens Energy AG climbed 2.7% to €152.76 on Tuesday after the company disclosed plans to evaluate a majority stake sale or spin-off of its Industry Transformation division, a business unit that generated €5.7 billion in annual revenue and reported an operating margin of approximately 14%.
The supervisory board convened an extraordinary meeting to assess strategic options for the division, which could be valued at more than €10 billion, according to sources cited in reports. No immediate decision was expected from the session, though Goldman Sachs has been retained to solicit proposals for the potential transaction.
The division’s third-quarter comparable revenue rose 18.5% to €11.45 billion, while order volume reached a record €17.9 billion. Net income more than doubled year-over-year, reflecting strong operational performance amid broader market strength.
Analysts at RBC Capital Markets maintained an "Outperform" rating on the stock following the announcement, with a 12-month average price target of nearly €197. Siemens Energy’s shares have gained 1.6% for the session, trading at €151.16 at midday in Frankfurt.
European and U.S. equity benchmarks advanced modestly, with the DAX up 0.3%, the S&P 500 gaining 0.3%, and the Nasdaq rising 0.6%. The market reaction follows recent commentary from Federal Reserve policymakers, including Kevin Warsh, ahead of the Jackson Hole symposium, though no direct link to monetary policy was cited in relation to Siemens Energy’s share movement.
