SEALSQ Corp (NASDAQ: LAES) said on Wednesday it is progressing toward a 2026 prototype for its quantum-resistant application-specific integrated circuit initiative, QASIC, targeting cybersecurity, medical devices and automotive systems.
The Swiss-based company’s French subsidiary IC'Alps is spearheading the effort, combining post-quantum cryptography with custom-chip design and RISC-V-based system-on-chip infrastructure. IC'Alps also provides functional safety, embedded non-volatile memory and analog and mixed-signal capabilities, according to SEALSQ.
The initiative spans a “Quantum Corridor” connecting semiconductor engineering and post-quantum capabilities across Switzerland, France, Spain, the United States, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates. SEALSQ said the early integration of quantum-resistant security at the semiconductor-design stage is critical because products in target sectors may remain in use for years.
IC'Alps’ supply-chain ecosystem includes TSMC, GlobalFoundries, STMicroelectronics, Intel Foundry, X-FAB and ams-OSRAM. The unit’s expertise covers security IP, secure system architectures and chiplet-based hardware security modules, in addition to custom and catalog integrated circuits.
SEALSQ describes itself as a provider of post-quantum hardware and software solutions, including semiconductors, public key infrastructure and provisioning services. The company’s CEO, Carlos Moreira, said the products and infrastructures involved may remain operational for many years, making it essential to embed post-quantum security at the design phase.
Jean-Luc Triouleyre, General Manager of IC'Alps, said the subsidiary’s digital, analog and mixed-signal design expertise allows it to meet the security, safety, performance and certification demands of cybersecurity, medical and automotive markets.
SEALSQ did not disclose financial details or production timelines beyond the 2026 prototype target.
