Saudi Arabia’s equities ended higher on Sunday, with the Tadawul All Share Index climbing 1.13% to a one-month peak. Gains were led by the media and publishing, cement and financial services sectors, while crude oil futures for October delivery slipped 0.22%.
Advancing stocks totaled 226 against 94 decliners, with 35 issues unchanged. The benchmark index’s advance extended its recent upward momentum, reflecting broad-based buying interest across key industries.
Saudi Vitrified Clay Pipes Co. surged 9.98% to close at 19.40, the largest percentage gain on the exchange. The National Shipping Co. added 9.45% to end at 37.30, while Saudi Azm for Communication and Information Technology rose 6.91% to 25.08.
On the downside, Morabaha Marina Financing Co. fell 4.74% to 8.04, Jadwa REIT Al Haramain Fund declined 2.62% to 4.84 and Tabuk Agriculture Development Co. dropped 2.27% to 9.03.
In commodities, Brent crude for October delivery rose 0.16% to $93.93 a barrel, while October West Texas Intermediate fell 0.22% to $86.64. December gold futures advanced 1.97% to $4,661.60 per troy ounce.
The euro and U.S. dollar held steady against the Saudi riyal at 4.38 and 3.75, respectively, while the U.S. Dollar Index futures slipped 0.05% to 98.77.
