Santos Ltd. shares advanced 2.8% to A$8.335 on Wednesday, outpacing a 0.4% decline in the ASX 200 as investors reacted to the energy producer’s half-year operational and financial update.
The company reported half-year production of 45.6 million barrels of oil equivalent, a 3% increase from the prior year. Sales revenue totaled US$2.62 billion, up 2% year-on-year, while earnings per share reached US$0.109, exceeding the analyst consensus estimate of US$0.105.
Santos also provided forward guidance, projecting second-half 2026 production to rise 20–30% as its flagship projects approach plateau rates. The Barossa LNG project in Australia’s Northern Territory has delivered 12 LNG cargoes by early August, while Pikka Phase 1 in Alaska lifted its first crude cargo in August 2026 and targets a gross plateau of 80,000 barrels per day by late Q3.
The board declared an unfranked interim dividend of US 11.6 cents per share, with a record date set for August 25. The dividend announcement follows the company’s operational progress and underscores its focus on shareholder returns amid ongoing project ramp-ups.
