Russia’s benchmark MOEX Russia Index advanced 2.30% at the close of trade on Tuesday, extending gains across mining, power and oil & gas sectors.
Advancers outnumbered decliners by 216 to 26 on the Moscow Stock Exchange, with 12 issues unchanged. The Russian Volatility Index, which tracks implied volatility for MOEX index options, fell 12.47% to 45.33.
Top performers included Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO, which surged 19.70% to 14.37, marking an all-time high. AK ALROSA PJSC rose 9.46% to 19.79, while Magnitogorskiy Metallurgicheskiy Kombinat PAO gained 7.02% to 20.42.
Among lagging gainers, PIK SHb PJSC added 0.33% to 572.90, Surgutneftegas PJSC Pref rose 0.55% to 41.95 and Polyus PJSC advanced 1.00% to 1,115.80.
Commodities showed mixed performance. December gold futures fell 1.88% to $4,389.50 per troy ounce, while October crude oil futures climbed 0.81% to $84.42 per barrel. Brent crude for October delivery dipped 0.04% to $91.29 per barrel. The U.S. Dollar Index futures were up 0.01% at 99.55, while the USD/RUB and EUR/RUB exchange rates held steady at 85.01 and 98.40, respectively.
