Private equity firm RedBird Capital Partners has entered advanced negotiations to acquire a majority stake in Puck Media, a digital publisher specializing in newsletters and podcasts, through a strategic recapitalization valued at approximately $250 million.
The transaction would allow RedBird to consolidate its position in the media and entertainment sector, building on its existing investments in sports and entertainment-focused ventures. Puck Media, founded in 2021, covers industries including Hollywood, sports, and fashion, positioning itself as a niche publisher in the digital content space.
RedBird’s offer targets the buyout of early investors’ stakes, according to sources familiar with the matter. The deal remains subject to final negotiations between RedBird Capital and Puck Media’s current shareholders, with no definitive timeline announced for completion.
The proposed recapitalization underscores RedBird’s strategy of targeting high-growth media properties to expand its portfolio in content-driven sectors. Bloomberg reported the transaction details earlier.
