Raytheon, an RTX business, has completed a $50 million expansion of its manufacturing facility in Forest, Mississippi, adding 17,000 square feet of space to the site. The facility now totals 445,000 square feet, serving as a production, testing, and integration hub for electronic warfare and radar systems.
The expansion supports increased output of Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band pods and other airborne radar programs, with Raytheon expecting to create 100 jobs by 2028. The company has operated in Forest for 40 years and has invested $280 million in three expansions at the site over the past decade, including a 20,000 sq ft addition in 2013 and a 50,000 sq ft radar production and testing facility completed in 2020.
Barbara Borgonovi, President of Naval Power at Raytheon, stated that the expansion underscores the company's long-term commitment to Forest and Mississippi. Tate Reeves, Mississippi Governor, highlighted the investment as a contribution to national security and a source of high-skill jobs for the region. U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, noted the expansion's role in modernizing military capabilities while creating employment opportunities.
RTX, Raytheon's parent company, reported 2025 sales exceeding $88 billion and employs over 180,000 people globally.
