AEVEX Corp. and Divergent Technologies Inc. announced a strategic partnership to develop an autonomous platform for unmanned systems using advanced manufacturing techniques.
The collaboration integrates AEVEX's experience in unmanned systems with Divergent's Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS), which combines AI-enabled design optimization, additive manufacturing, robotic assembly, and model-based certification. The partnership aims to shorten development timelines, reduce part counts, and enable scalable production through adaptive airframe architectures and digitally defined manufacturing processes.
Initial efforts will prioritize adaptable airframe concepts, rapid integration workflows, and digitally enabled production methods, according to the companies. AEVEX operates vertically integrated engineering and manufacturing facilities across multiple U.S. locations and provides unmanned systems, AI-enabled mission software, and ISR and electronic warfare solutions to national security clients.
Divergent, founded in 2014, operates multiple adaptive factories and provides manufacturing solutions for aerospace, defense, and industrial programs. The partnership reflects a broader industry shift toward AI-driven and digitally integrated production systems to meet growing demand for unmanned platforms.
Manan Patel, CTO of AEVEX, stated the collaboration enables evaluation of next-generation manufacturing concepts that could enhance responsiveness and flexibility in future unmanned system development and delivery.
Lukas Czinger, co-founder and CEO of Divergent, added the partnership allows the company to deliver volume at the pace required by demand.
