Paris Saint-Germain will open the UEFA Champions League league phase against Barcelona at home before traveling to Manchester City as part of a challenging group in the 2026–27 edition.
The draw, held in Monaco on Thursday, placed PSG in a group alongside Roma, Aston Villa, Galatasaray, Villarreal, Slovan Bratislava and Como. The French champions secured their title in May by defeating Premier League winners Arsenal on penalties.
Real Madrid, the competition’s record holder with 15 titles, will face Inter Milan and Arsenal in league-phase matches, along with PSV Eindhoven, Roma, RB Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk, LASK and AEK Athens. José Mourinho returns to face Inter Milan, a club he previously coached in 2010.
Bayern Munich will host Arsenal in their opening match and travel to Atlético Madrid and Manchester United. The Bavarian side enters the league phase in its third edition, a format introduced for the 2024–25 season.
The league phase expands the group stage to 36 teams, replacing the traditional 32-team format with eight groups of four. All teams will play eight matches—four home and four away—against a mix of opponents from four seeded pots, with the top eight advancing directly to the knockout rounds.
