Shares of Pony AI advanced 5.5% to HK$61.85 on Thursday, recouping some of the losses from a three-day decline following the company’s second-quarter earnings report.
The rebound reflects a shift in investor sentiment after the company posted a substantially narrower-than-expected adjusted loss and reported explosive growth in robotaxi revenue. The positive reassessment came as Pony AI marked the live debut of its autonomous ride-hailing service in Zagreb, Croatia, the first European market where passengers can book self-driving vehicles via the Uber app.
The Zagreb launch validates agreements announced during the earnings call to deploy more than 2,000 robotaxis across five European cities in partnership with Uber. Pony AI also noted that negotiations are ongoing for an additional 4,000 international vehicles, signaling further expansion potential.
The broader market backdrop supported risk assets and technology stocks, with U.S. Treasury yields declining overnight. The Hang Seng Index rose 0.8% on the session.
