Poland’s industrial output expanded 5.1% in July from a year earlier, the statistics office reported on Thursday, falling short of analyst forecasts for a 4.9% increase.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, production rose 4.2% year-on-year, while total output declined 1.8% compared with June, reversing a 1.8% gain in the prior month. The year-on-year growth rate decelerated from 7.4% in June, signaling a broader slowdown in industrial activity.
The mining and quarrying sector posted an 18.5% year-on-year increase in July, down from 28.4% growth in June, and contracted 4.9% month-on-month after a 2.4% decline in the previous month. Manufacturing output, which accounts for the bulk of industrial activity, grew 4.4% year-on-year, easing from 6.2% in June, and fell 1.7% month-on-month following a 2.3% rise in June.
The electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning sector expanded 7.4% year-on-year, while water supply, sewerage, and waste management grew 11.3% compared with July 2025, the data showed.
