Paraguay denies Atome lawsuit but opens dialogue on dispute

Paraguay’s government has responded to a dispute notification from Atome PLC, a London-listed company on the AIM market, stating that no lawsuit or arbitration has been initiated against the Paraguayan State. The notification, received on Wednesday, gave Atome a three-month period to explore an amicable resolution before potentially escalating to legal proceedings. The Attorney General’s Office issued a press release on Thursday, emphasizing that while the claims are under review, Paraguay remains committed to legal certainty, respect for investments, and compliance with international obligations. The government also reaffirmed its stance on defending national interests while maintaining openness to dialogue with Atome.
