Parabilis Medicines has appointed Craig L. Tendler, M.D., to its Board of Directors, adding deep oncology expertise to the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. Tendler, who brings more than 30 years of experience in oncology drug development and medical affairs, previously served as Global Head of Late-Stage Clinical Development and Global Medical Affairs for Oncology at Johnson & Johnson.
During his two decades at J&J, Tendler contributed to over 30 oncology regulatory approvals across multiple cancer types, including prostate cancer, hematologic malignancies, lung cancer, and bladder cancer. His work included securing 13 FDA Breakthrough Therapy designations and approvals for 15 New Molecular Entities. He also played a key role in J&J’s acquisitions of Cougar Biotechnology, Aragon Pharmaceuticals, and Taris Biomedical, as well as co-development partnerships with Legend Biotech, Pharmacyclics, and Genmab.
Prior to J&J, Tendler spent nearly a decade at the Schering-Plough Research Institute in oncology clinical research. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed a research fellowship at the National Cancer Institute. Currently, he sits on the boards of TuHURA Biosciences and Predicta Biosciences and serves as an alternate industry representative to the FDA’s Oncologic Drugs Advisory Committee.
Parabilis Medicines, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is advancing Zolucatetide, its lead investigational therapy, across multiple oncology indications. The drug is being evaluated for desmoid tumors, familial adenomatous polyposis, adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and other solid tumor indications. Tendler will continue his role as a scientific advisor to the company alongside his new board responsibilities.
