Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW) announced a strategic investment in phased array antenna technology to support space-based military communications networks. The move underscores the company's focus on resilient, high-throughput satellite links for defense applications, including the U.S. military's Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.
The investment follows upgrades to Redwire's RF flight electronics assembly facilities in Longmont, Colorado, where the company's RF Systems group develops tactical connectivity antennas. These systems are designed to operate across low Earth orbit, medium Earth orbit, and geostationary orbit, enabling beam steering, link reliability, and increased data throughput for military communications.
Redwire's existing portfolio includes RF payloads produced for a European defense contractor and tactical antennas deployed on the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture, which have enabled U.S. military Link-16 communications from space since 2023. The RF Systems group has delivered more than 200 flight antennas and employs a workforce of approximately 1,400 across North America and Europe.
