Parabilis Medicines (NASDAQ: PBLS) has appointed Craig L. Tendler, M.D., to its Board of Directors, adding deep oncology expertise to the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Tendler brings more than three decades of experience in oncology drug development and medical affairs, including a 20-year tenure at Johnson & Johnson, where he served as Global Head of Late-Stage Clinical Development and Global Medical Affairs for Oncology. His prior roles included nearly a decade at the Schering-Plough Research Institute in oncology clinical research, as well as academic positions at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and the National Cancer Institute.
During his tenure at J&J, Tendler contributed to over 30 regulatory approvals across multiple cancer types, including prostate cancer, hematologic malignancies, lung cancer, and bladder cancer. He also played a key role in securing 13 FDA Breakthrough Therapy designations and approvals for 15 New Molecular Entities. His involvement extended to business development activities, including the acquisitions of Cougar Biotechnology, Aragon Pharmaceuticals, and Taris Biomedical, as well as co-development partnerships with Legend Biotech, Pharmacyclics, and Genmab.
In addition to his new board role, Tendler will continue as a scientific advisor to Parabilis Medicines. He remains on the boards of TuHURA Biosciences and Predicta Biosciences and serves as an alternate industry representative to the FDA's Oncologic Drugs Advisory Committee.
Parabilis Medicines is evaluating its lead investigational medicine, Zolucatetide, across multiple oncology indications, including desmoid tumors, familial adenomatous polyposis, adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and other solid tumor types.
