Optimum Communications (NYSE: OPTU) announced plans to extend its fiber-to-the-home infrastructure to East Brunswick and South River, New Jersey, with service slated to begin in early 2027. The rollout will provide symmetrical internet speeds of up to 8 Gbps for both residential and business subscribers.
The expansion builds on Optimum's existing presence in the state, where it already offers Optimum Mobile services and serves nearly 300 communities. Across its 21-state footprint, the company reaches about 4.2 million residential and business customers with broadband, video, mobile and advertising offerings.
Elton Hart, Vice President and General Manager of Optimum Tri-State, said the company’s commitment to New Jersey extends beyond fast internet, emphasizing partnerships with local residents, businesses, educators and community leaders as the network expands.
The new fiber deployment follows a $40 million investment announced in 2025 to extend service to Woodbridge, Clark, Linden and Carteret. Optimum noted that it has spent hundreds of millions of dollars in recent years to upgrade its statewide network to fiber technology.
