Nuwellis, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUWE) and Atrility Medical, Inc. have entered a six-month co-promotion and distribution agreement for AtriAmp, a sterile, single-use device designed for temporary epicardial pacing wires used in cardiac surgeries.
The pilot program covers three Nuwellis sales territories spanning nine states in the Western U.S. and five states in the Southeastern U.S. Nuwellis will earn commissions on sales to existing and new customers within these regions. Atrility will continue servicing existing accounts, while Nuwellis will support those clients and pursue new commercial relationships in pediatric and adult critical care.
AtriAmp, FDA-approved for both adult and pediatric patients, connects temporary pacing wires to bedside ECG monitors and external pacemakers. The device provides continuous real-time atrial electrograms and supports temporary atrial pacing. Atrility CEO Sean McCormick noted the device was developed to make continuous atrial electrograms readily available at the bedside using existing ICU monitoring and stimulation equipment.
Following the pilot, Nuwellis is expected to become Atrility’s exclusive U.S. distributor for a large portion of the country. Under the agreement, Nuwellis would purchase products directly from Atrility and assume responsibility for sales, distribution, and order fulfillment in the covered market.
A 2024 peer-reviewed qualitative study evaluating early adoption of AtriAmp after congenital heart surgery involved interviews with 14 healthcare professionals. The study highlighted themes including reduced time to diagnose and treat arrhythmias, more accurate arrhythmia diagnosis, and enhanced clinician familiarity and education.
Nuwellis shares were down 8.77% at $0.958 on Tuesday.
