Norway's main equity benchmark, the Oslo OBX index, closed 0.31% higher on Tuesday, reaching its highest level in three months. Advancing issues outnumbered decliners by 149 to 107, with 21 stocks unchanged.
Gains were concentrated in the healthcare equipment and utilities sectors, though broader market sentiment was tempered by declines in energy and industrial names. Nordic Semiconductor ASA led advancers with a 3.45% rise to NOK 165.00, while Nel ASA added 3.16% to NOK 2.13.
Among laggards, Frontline Ltd fell 2.46% to NOK 400.50, while Equinor ASA declined 1.24% to NOK 389.90. Orkla ASA dropped 1.08% to NOK 96.05, nearing its 52-week low.
Oil prices retreated, with October WTI crude down 3.05% to $82.42 per barrel and November Brent crude falling 2.94% to $87.88. December gold futures slipped 0.10% to $4,692.95 per troy ounce.
Currency movements were modest, with the EUR/NOK pair up 0.21% at 10.87 and USD/NOK rising 0.28% to 9.32. The U.S. Dollar Index futures were little changed, down 0.03% at 98.90.
