Norway’s benchmark Oslo OBX index retreated 0.10% at Wednesday’s close, weighed by declines in media, transport and diversified financials sectors.
Declining issues outnumbered advancers by 140 to 114, with 30 stocks unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange. The OBX’s modest retreat followed broader caution in European equities, though gains in select names limited the index’s decline.
SalMar ASA led advancers, rising 6.25% or 34.00 points to 578.00, while Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA added 1.90% to 13.39 and Mowi ASA gained 1.83% to 211.60. On the downside, Hafnia Ltd fell 3.48% to 73.45, TGS NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA declined 3.25% to 130.80 and Höegh Autoliners ASA dropped 2.59% to 169.50.
Commodity markets showed broad softness, with October crude oil futures down 0.72% at $81.77 per barrel and November Brent crude falling 0.66% to $86.69. December gold futures eased 0.62% to $4,665.56 per troy ounce.
The Norwegian krone strengthened modestly, with EUR/NOK up 0.23% at 10.89 and USD/NOK higher by 0.45% at 9.35. U.S. Dollar Index futures rose 0.29% to 99.12, reflecting a firmer greenback tone against major peers.
