NIQ, the Chicago-based data analytics firm formerly known as NielsenIQ, announced a partnership with The OpenAI Deployment Company to enhance its AI product portfolio. The collaboration will accelerate the release of an updated version of NIQ Optiq Chat and introduce NIQ Optiq Bridge in early September.
NIQ Optiq Chat functions as an AI insights agent, enabling users to query business questions and receive recommendations grounded in NIQ’s proprietary data and analytical frameworks. NIQ Optiq Bridge, by contrast, is designed to embed NIQ’s data, models, and generative AI capabilities directly into clients’ existing technology stacks, applications, or platforms. The partnership builds on NIQ’s reported AI-native momentum from its second-quarter results and aligns with its ConnectAI Charter Program, which pairs technology access with engineering and data science support.
The initiative is underpinned by NIQ’s data foundation, which spans approximately 260 million product items across 10.5 billion attributes, supported by a 160-petabyte data engine. NIQ operates in more than 90 countries, providing a global footprint for the deployment of these AI tools.
Troy Treangen, Chief Product & AI Officer at NIQ, stated that the collaboration is expected to improve development speed and efficiency, but emphasized the broader goal of enabling clients to extract greater value from NIQ’s intelligence and explore new applications for its data. Adena Hefets, interim CEO of The OpenAI Deployment Company, highlighted the alignment between NIQ’s consumer and commerce expertise and the partnership’s AI-driven expansion.
