Morocco’s equities advanced at the close of trade on Thursday, with the Moroccan All Shares index climbing 0.73% to a three-month high, as gains in the distributors, real estate and mining sectors offset declines elsewhere.
The benchmark index reached its highest level since May, supported by broad-based buying in consumer-facing and resource-linked names. Advancing issues outpaced decliners on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, though the exchange did not disclose a numerical ratio.
Among the top performers, IB Maroc Com SA surged 6.79% to 60.87, Rebab Company added 5.99% to 100.70, and Douja Prom Addoha gained 4.11% to 37.48. On the downside, Zellidja S.A fell 5.09% to 313.05, Sanlam Maroc SA declined 3.75% to 2,820.00, and S2M dropped 3.41% to 510.00.
Commodity markets moved higher as crude benchmarks rose. October West Texas Intermediate crude gained 1.88% to $85.98 per barrel, while Brent crude for October delivery advanced 1.56% to $93.05. December gold futures climbed 0.78% to $4,580.64 per troy ounce.
Foreign exchange movements were mixed, with the euro rising 0.50% against the Moroccan dirham to 10.82, while the U.S. dollar held steady at 9.25. The U.S. Dollar Index futures were little changed at 98.74.
