Mayfair Gold Corp. has appointed Desmond Tranquilla as Chief Projects Officer and Ruben Wallin as Senior Vice President, Sustainability, to oversee development of the Fenn-Gib gold project in Northern Ontario.
Tranquilla brings over 35 years of project development and construction experience, including leadership roles at Canada Nickel Company, SNC-Lavalin, and Detour Gold. His prior projects include Vale’s C$1.6 billion Atmospheric Emission Reduction initiative and the C$1.5 billion Detour Lake Mine expansion. Wallin, with more than 30 years in environmental stewardship and permitting, previously held positions at Placer Dome, De Beers Canada, Barrick, and Generation Mining, where he worked on environmental approvals for the Marathon Project.
The Fenn-Gib project hosts a 4.3 million-ounce indicated mineral resource, according to a 2026 Pre-Feasibility Study. Mayfair targets a construction decision in 2028, with initial production slated for 2030. The study outlines an initial development capital requirement of C$450 million. The project is progressing through Ontario’s One Project, One Process approvals framework.
Both executives received stock options to acquire 200,000 common shares each, exercisable at the five-day volume-weighted average price on August 24, 2026, and expiring on August 24, 2031. Mayfair also granted 2,452,500 performance restricted share units to certain officers and employees, with vesting tied to Fenn-Gib milestones or a maximum three-year period.
Mayfair trades on the TSX Venture Exchange under the ticker MFG and on the NYSE American as MINE.
