Marvell Technology shares rose on Wednesday following a report that demand for its artificial intelligence (AI) chips has strengthened, particularly from hyperscale data center operators.
The company’s stock, which had already gained ground in recent sessions, extended its advance after a Bloomberg News report cited industry sources familiar with the matter. The report suggested that hyperscale customers are increasing orders for Marvell’s AI accelerators, driven by growing deployment of AI workloads in cloud infrastructure.
Marvell, a key supplier of semiconductor components for data centers, has positioned itself as a critical enabler of AI infrastructure. Its AI chips are designed to accelerate machine learning tasks, a segment experiencing rapid expansion amid the broader AI boom. The company’s latest quarterly results, released last month, reflected solid revenue growth, with AI-related products contributing significantly to performance.
Analysts tracking the stock noted that Marvell’s exposure to high-growth AI markets has become a primary driver of investor sentiment. The surge in shares comes as the semiconductor sector broadly benefits from sustained demand for AI-capable hardware, though individual company performance remains tied to specific product cycles and customer contracts.
The stock’s advance follows a broader rally in AI-related equities this year, as investors bet on long-term growth in generative AI applications. Marvell’s shares were up more than 3% in midday trading, outperforming the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, which rose 1.2% on the day.
The company has not commented publicly on the latest stock movement or the Bloomberg report.
