Luxembourg-based advisory firm Leroy & Goldbach has opened an office in Zurich to advise Swiss and Liechtenstein fund providers on Luxembourg fund structures. The new location at Othmarstrasse 8 will serve asset managers, wealth managers, family offices, pension funds and institutional investors across the DACH region.
The Zurich office will be led by co-founder and managing partner Lissie Goldbach under the firm’s DACH desk. Services will cover the full fund lifecycle, including structuring, launch, distribution and ongoing operations. The move aims to strengthen the firm’s proximity to Swiss clients amid evolving regulatory and market conditions.
Luxembourg remains a key hub for cross-border fund distribution in the EU, despite Switzerland’s introduction of the Limited Qualified Investor Fund (L-QIF) in 2024. The L-QIF offers greater flexibility for qualified Swiss investors, but Leroy & Goldbach notes that Luxembourg vehicles remain essential for EU-wide distribution and international investor bases. The two jurisdictions are seen as complementary rather than competitive.
Goldbach emphasized the strategic alignment: 'The Swiss financial center and the Luxembourg fund location form one of the most significant axes in European asset management. This axis is complementary, not competitive.' She added that Swiss and Liechtenstein providers can combine local investment expertise with structures that grant access to the broader European market.
Founded by Goldbach and Virginie Leroy, the firm has launched over 100 funds and advised more than 95 fund managers and 35 family offices across more than 35 countries. Goldbach, admitted to the bar in Luxembourg and Germany, previously worked at Allen & Overy, Baker & McKenzie and Pinsent Masons. Leroy, admitted in Luxembourg, England, Wales and France, was a partner at Goodwin Procter and Arendt & Medernach before co-founding the firm.
Leroy & Goldbach’s advisory scope includes regulated and unregulated Luxembourg fund vehicles, securitization platforms, co-investment structures and club deals. The firm also provides corporate and M&A advisory, fund financing, regulatory compliance and private wealth services. On the investor side, it advises on legal due diligence, subscription terms and side letters.
