Three U.S. large-cap stocks trading near 52-week lows present outsized rebound potential based on valuation screens, with projected gains ranging from 70% to 81%.
Lululemon (LULU) last traded at $118.70, down 47.7% from its 52-week high and offering an estimated 81.1% upside to fair value. The athletic apparel retailer’s valuation of 9.3x earnings has not been seen since 2009, according to Needham. The stock’s relative strength index stands at 43.3, below the neutral 50 level. Needham maintained a Hold rating while reducing EPS estimates to the low end of guidance, citing weakened demand and uncertainty surrounding an incoming CEO transition. Heidi O’Neill is set to assume the CEO role on September 8, following the departures of the chief communications, AI and technology, and strategy officers prior to her arrival.
Charter Communications (CHTR) closed at $147.57, representing a 48.4% decline from its 52-week peak. The cable operator’s P/E ratio of 3.8x and projected 72.8% upside make it the second-highest rebound candidate in the screen. Charter recently refinanced $4.75 billion in senior secured notes and secured a distribution agreement with Optimum across 30 designated market areas. Five analysts have since revised earnings estimates downward.
Fiserv (FISV) reported the deepest drawdown among the three, trading at $51.62, or 63.2% below its 52-week high. The payments technology firm’s P/E of 9.8x suggests a potential 69.9% gain to fair value. Activist investor Jana Partners has pushed for a comprehensive review of Fiserv’s business portfolio. The company also secured Flagstar Bank as a client for its Finxact cloud-native core banking platform. A total of 23 analysts have lowered earnings forecasts, though Mizuho maintained an Outperform rating with a $78 target, implying 51% upside, while UBS set a $60 target, indicating 16% upside.
The screening criteria required stocks to trade at least 40% below 52-week highs, maintain market caps above $5 billion, report positive earnings with P/E ratios under 25, and show at least 15% upside to fair value. As of August 21, 2026, the 30-year Treasury yield stood at 5.26%, while Brent crude was trading at $93.73.
