KeyBanc Capital Markets has initiated coverage of Midera Food Processing (NASDAQ: MFP) with a Sector Weight rating, according to InvestingPro data. Analyst Jeffrey Hammond highlighted the company’s improved capital allocation flexibility following its spinoff from a larger parent organization.
The stock, which has surged 39% over the past six months, is trading near its 52-week high of $51.62. KeyBanc estimates the company’s standalone adjusted EBITDA reached $41.8 million in the second quarter, exceeding the top end of its guidance range. Net sales rose 13% year-over-year to $245.4 million, supported by acquisitions and a significant project with Frigomeccanica.
Hammond noted that Midera’s clean balance sheet provides capacity for more than $700 million in acquisitions over the next three years. The analyst expects capital to be deployed toward tuck-in mergers within the company’s fragmented supplier base. KeyBanc also flagged recent margin pressures from tariff-related cost inflation, though it views these headwinds as largely resolved as newer orders reflect updated pricing.
The company’s Midera Operating System is identified as a key growth lever, with potential gains in procurement scale, automation, and technology integration. Midera raised its 2026 outlook following its second-quarter earnings release, its first as an independent public company.
