KBR Inc. said on Monday it secured a $60 million contract from NATO to provide support services for the alliance’s PATRIOT air defense systems.
The agreement covers maintenance, logistics, and operational assistance for PATRIOT systems deployed across NATO member states, the company said in a statement. The contract is part of broader efforts to enhance collective defense capabilities amid regional security challenges.
KBR, a U.S.-based engineering and construction firm, did not disclose the duration of the contract or further financial details. The company has previously worked with NATO on similar defense-related programs, including logistics and sustainment initiatives.
The PATRIOT system, developed by Raytheon Technologies, is a key component of NATO’s layered air and missile defense architecture. Its deployment has been expanded in recent years to counter evolving threats, including ballistic missiles and drones.
NATO’s procurement processes typically involve competitive bidding, though specific award criteria were not detailed in KBR’s announcement. The contract underscores the alliance’s reliance on private-sector expertise for critical defense infrastructure.
