JFrog Ltd. shares surged 11.8% on Thursday after the DevOps software company launched JFrog Traffic Controller, a network-level package security solution designed to block malicious software before it reaches end-user machines.
The new tool integrates with Secure Access Service Edge providers such as Zscaler, Cloudflare and Netskope to control open-source consumption at the network edge. Traffic Controller reroutes package download requests through JFrog Artifactory, the company’s system of record, where packages are inspected via JFrog Curation against configured security, license and quality policies. Compliant packages are delivered without interruption, while malicious ones are stopped, the company said.
The launch follows findings from JFrog’s 2026 Software Supply Chain Security State of the Union report, which documented a 451% year-over-year increase in malicious packages, reaching more than 171,000 unique instances. The survey also found that only 40% of organizations currently have malicious package detection capabilities in place, and just 28% have active secrets detection. The report was published on the same day as the product announcement.
JFrog Traffic Controller is available immediately. Shares of JFrog, listed on the NASDAQ under the ticker FROG, rose to $103.82 in midday trading on Thursday, up from $92.80 at the prior close.
