India's Nifty 50 falls 0.12% as stocks end lower

India's benchmark Nifty 50 index closed 0.12% lower on Tuesday, as equities retreated following a mixed session marked by cautious investor sentiment.
The Nifty 50, which tracks 50 of the largest and most liquid stocks on the National Stock Exchange, ended at 22,450.30 points, down 27.10 points from its previous close. Trading volumes were moderate, with 1.2 billion shares changing hands across 2,300 stocks.
Sectoral performance was broadly negative, with financials and energy stocks leading the decline. The Nifty Bank index fell 0.35%, while the Nifty Energy index dropped 0.40%. IT and healthcare shares provided marginal support, with the Nifty IT index rising 0.20% and the Nifty Healthcare index gaining 0.15%.
