Helios Underwriting Plc (AIM: HUW) has expanded its share buyback program to a maximum aggregate consideration of £2.5 million, up from £2 million previously.
The repurchase authority, approved by shareholders at the company’s annual general meeting on June 22, 2026, permits the purchase of up to 6,942,081 ordinary shares. These shares will be held in treasury and may be reissued or cancelled at Helios’s discretion, with treasury shares excluded from dividend payments and voting rights at general meetings.
The buyback may account for a substantial portion of daily trading volume on the AIM market. The company expects daily repurchases to exceed 25% of the average daily traded volume over the 20 trading days preceding each purchase, potentially limiting Helios’s ability to rely on exemptions under Article 5(1) of the EU Market Abuse Regulation.
Helios Underwriting operates as a limited liability direct investor in the Lloyd’s of London insurance market, participating primarily in U.S. and international wholesale and reinsurance segments. Shares in the program trade on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market.
