Gunsynd Plc said it will commence a 1,375-meter drilling program at the Eagle Lake gold project in Ontario in the first half of September, accelerating the timeline from the fourth quarter of 2026.
The program, fully funded and permitted, will comprise 11 holes across five platforms targeting four zones: East Fornieri Bay, West Fornieri Bay, Cedar Trench and Moss Knoll. Critical Discoveries Corp. will oversee operations, while Rodren Drilling Ltd. has been contracted for the drilling work.
Gunsynd holds a 10% stake in Wedgetail Mining Corp., which owns the mining concessions for the project. Talon Resources Plc retains the remaining 90% interest in Wedgetail.
Preliminary channel sampling results released in July highlighted high-grade gold intercepts. At East Fornieri Bay, assays returned 1.85 meters at 7.17 grams per tonne, including 0.50 meters at 24.40 grams per tonne. Additional samples showed 4.80 meters at 4.47 grams per tonne, including 1.00 meter at 19.10 grams per tonne. Cedar Trench yielded 5.70 meters at 1.26 grams per tonne, including 1.70 meters at 3.15 grams per tonne, and 10.10 meters at 0.57 grams per tonne, including 2.50 meters at 1.53 grams per tonne. Moss Knoll recorded 8.00 meters at 0.67 grams per tonne, including 3.20 meters at 1.10 grams per tonne.
The drilling initiative aims to further delineate mineralization at the project, which is located in a historically prospective gold district in Canada.
