Great Southern Copper plc announced the commencement of an induced‑polarisation (IP) geophysics survey at its Cerro Negro prospect in northern Chile. The survey, led by Chief Executive Officer Sam Garrett, consists of five IP‑Resistivity lines covering up to six line‑kilometres and uses 40‑metre spaced receiver dipoles and transmitters, matching the configuration of a broader survey completed in June 2025.
The purpose of the survey is to infill the earlier broad‑spaced data and produce three‑dimensional chargeability and resistivity anomalies for Phase IV drill targeting. The program extends eastward to the Monolith Ag‑Cu exploration target and westward toward potential mineralisation in the hanging wall of the Mostaza Fault Zone. Depth coverage is designed from near‑surface to roughly 150 metres.
Great Southern Copper holds 100 % ownership of the Cerro Negro prospect. The Monolith zone, identified in outcrop over a 700 × 400 metre area, previously yielded high‑grade copper‑silver mineralisation discovered in February 2025 beneath historic Mostaza mine workings. Phase IV drilling plans and permitting are reported to be at an advanced stage.
The company expects the new IP data to refine drill targets and support further development of its Especularita Project, which lies within the Cretaceous‑age coastal metallogenic belt that hosts major deposits such as Los Pelambres, Altar and El Pachón.
