Shares of German medical packaging company Gerresheimer fell more than 6% at the start of trading on Tuesday after interim CEO Uwe Röhrhoff resigned with immediate effect.
Röhrhoff’s departure comes ahead of the scheduled end of his mandate in October, though the company did not provide a reason for the early exit. Chief Financial Officer Wolf Lehmann will assume Röhrhoff’s responsibilities until further notice, according to a company statement.
Röhrhoff had been appointed interim CEO in November 2025 at the request of the Supervisory Board. During his tenure, he worked alongside newly appointed Management Board members Wolf Lehmann and Achim Schalk to stabilize the company and address key operational challenges.
The company also highlighted a strategic milestone achieved in late July 2026, when it signed an agreement to sell its U.S. subsidiary Centor and its global Primary Plastic Packaging business. The divestiture is intended to simplify Gerresheimer’s capital and financing structure while reducing its leverage. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.
