Genius Sports Limited (NYSE: GENI) has partnered with NBA player Chris Paul to create a sports media venture that will produce athlete-led programming using sports data, artificial intelligence and technology. Paul, a 12-time NBA All-Star who ranks second all-time in career assists and steals, will host initial programming through his production company Ohh Dip!!! Entertainment. He said athletes understand the details, decisions and moments fans do not always see, and that the partnership combines that perspective with data and technology to educate fans and tell stories in new ways.
Connor Schell, producer of The Last Dance and ESPN's 30 for 30, will lead production and storytelling for the new company through his production company Words + Pictures. The venture is expected to launch its first programming in the fourth quarter of 2026. It plans to add athletes, creators and programming franchises as it expands across social, digital and other media platforms.
Genius Sports will serve as the venture's exclusive commercialization partner, connecting brand partners with the programming. The initiative is intended to educate fans and tell stories by combining athlete perspective with data and technology. The venture references the GeniusIQ platform and the WNBA, English Premier League, NFL, NCAA, DraftKings, FanDuel and bet365 as platforms for tracking, data and partnerships.
