Genflow Biosciences Plc (LSE:GENF, OTCQB:GENFF) announced that its SLAB clinical trial has met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a reduction in biological age as measured by the GRIM methylation clock in treated beagle dogs relative to controls.
The randomized, blinded study enrolled 24 beagles older than 10 years and divided them into four cohorts: two receiving naked DNA treatment at separate dose levels, one receiving a single dose of AAV8, and a saline control group.
Improvements were also observed across multiple functional and observable secondary measures, the company said. The announcement follows interim muscle data reported in February and a three-month follow-up in April that the company described as confirming sustained safety and efficacy.
Detailed trial results, including mechanistic analyses from Genflow’s veterinary longevity program, will be presented at the Animal Longevity Summit in Toronto on Oct. 1–2, 2026.
Dr. Eric Leire, chief executive officer, called the result "a defining milestone" for the company. "We set out to demonstrate that our centenarian SIRT6 naked DNA therapy could measurably address age-related decline in a real-world aging mode," he said.
Genflow, founded in 2020 and headquartered in the UK with research facilities in Belgium, focuses on gene therapies for age-related diseases. Its lead compound, GF-1002, delivers a centenarian variant of the SIRT6 gene. The company also has a metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis program and an mRNA-based therapy targeting corneal pathologies and glaucoma advancing in its pipeline.
On the commercial front, Genflow said it continues to engage with global animal health companies regarding potential licensing, co-development, and commercialization opportunities.
