Founder Energy Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Founder Group Limited, has entered the tender process for Malaysia’s Large-Scale Solar 6 (LSS6) programme, the country’s largest solar tender to date.
The LSS6 initiative, launched by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation in July 2026, aims to attract between RM13 billion and RM15 billion in private investment. It targets the development of 2,500 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity paired with 1,250 MW of battery energy storage systems, with projects scheduled for phased commissioning through December 31, 2029.
Founder Energy, which has already completed over 70 solar engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) projects in Peninsular Malaysia, is positioned to compete for contracts under the programme. The company has delivered more than 1 gigawatt-peak (GWp) of direct current solar capacity across its completed facilities, with an aggregate contract value of RM520 million.
Founder Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Lee Seng Chi, highlighted the strategic alignment of LSS6 with the company’s capabilities. “LSS6 is the largest solar tender Malaysia has ever launched, and it plays directly to our strengths as a full-capability EPCC provider,” he stated. “We are already active in the market, and our existing collaboration with leading Malaysian and international solar companies who are best positioned to win LSS6 packages will directly benefit us.”
