Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT) opened a more-than-$60 million Innovation Hub in New York City, expanding its presence in one of the world’s largest enterprise and financial-services markets.
The approximately 40,000-square-foot facility is roughly three times the size of the company’s previous NYC office. The hub includes a Fortinet Cloud point-of-presence data center, an Executive Briefing Center for collaborative cybersecurity-strategy discussions, and a Cybersecurity Training Center for in-person learning. It is designed to support employees across several functions, including sales, and provides customers and partners access to technology demonstrations and executive briefings.
The building incorporates upgraded electrical and mechanical infrastructure built to higher energy-efficiency standards. Heat recovery from the data center is used to help heat other areas of the facility.
John Whittle, Fortinet’s chief operating officer, called New York City “the world’s most important center for financial services and enterprise business, making it a strategic market for Fortinet.” He added that the investment reflects the company’s long-term approach to supporting and protecting its customers.
The NYC hub joins Fortinet’s existing network of Innovation Hubs in Chicago, Atlanta, London, and Sydney. The company said it serves customers among the top 10 financial-services enterprises in New York City.
Fortinet, which provides cybersecurity and networking solutions, says it has more than 1 million lifetime customers and offers a portfolio of over 50 products.
