Shares of Five Below jumped 6% in after-hours trading after the discount retailer reported adjusted diluted earnings per share of $1.68 for the fiscal second quarter, surpassing the consensus estimate of approximately $1.33.
Net sales totaled $1.26 billion, exceeding expectations of $1.21 billion. Comparable sales rose 14.1% during the quarter, marking the fifth consecutive period of double-digit growth.
The company raised its full-year fiscal 2026 outlook, projecting net sales in a range of $5.63 billion to $5.71 billion, up from the prior forecast of $5.40 billion to $5.48 billion. Adjusted diluted EPS guidance was increased to $9.83–$10.31 from $8.65–$9.05 previously.
Five Below also announced a new $600 million share repurchase program and reported its store count expanded to 2,022 locations across 46 states, an 8.8% year-over-year increase.
Analysts at Jefferies maintained a buy rating with a price target of $350 ahead of the results. During regular trading, major U.S. indices ended near flat as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq each declined 0.1%, with investors balancing concerns over elevated oil prices and bond yields.
