The contract, awarded under the Space Force’s Orbital Prime program, requires Firefly to deliver a preliminary design review for a deorbiting system capable of removing defunct satellites from low Earth orbit. Firefly Aerospace, a subsidiary of Firefly Space Transportation, has not disclosed further financial or technical details of the agreement.
